Although there are a variety of genres that my group could have chosen from, we settled on the genre of Indie Pop. We have chosen this genre as we feel it is a relatively open genre and by researching correctly we are hoping to discover the codes and conventions that have been used.
Indie Pop is genre of alternative rock music that originated in the United Kingdom in the mid 1980s. Well known artists such as Arcade Fire, Ellie Goulding and The Kooks all fit into this genre and therefore are a starting point for my research.
